2012 Here We Come!
2011 was an amazing year in the life of the Tulsa Praise Orchestra. We added a new choir and ‘frontline’ group of singers, toured throughout Oklahoma and all the way to New York City for our spectacular concert at the State of Liberty with Dave Boyer, Ernestine Dillard, Alice Coe and Jack Spratt.
Now that our final December Christmas concerts are over - we are settling in for a much needed rest --- but not for too long!
We will hit the trail early in January with an appearance at Booker T Washington High School for a special event marking the life and work of Martin Luther King.
We move into February with a mission project fundraising concert in Owasso.
In fact, 2012 will mark a return to a passion we have of helping groups raise funds.
Did you know that the Tulsa Praise Orchestra has a motto of “the big band with the helping hand!” -
Also, in 2012, we will take the band and choir to communities across Oklahoma - from Lawton to McAlester, Grove, Enid, Stillwater, Norman, OKC, Edmond, Tulsa....
In April, we will host world-class trumpeter Mike Williams. Mike was the lead trumpeter for the One O’Clock Jazz Band at North Texas State University, lead trumpet for
the Glenn Miller Orchestra and has spent the past 23 years as the lead and solo
Trumpet for the famed Count Basie Orchestra.
You just may also see us pop up in Branson and Santa Fein 2012.. Stay tuned!
